Sergey Tokarev announced that SET University, a Ukrainian technological university, has unveiled a new initiative aimed at providing scholarships that can cover a significant portion of tuition fees for local students. A big step in ensuring the availability of education for the talented youth of the country.
According to Sergey Tokarev, this remarkable initiative opens up opportunities for ten Ukrainian students who dream of getting a quality education in the field of information security and innovative engineering. Master’s programs ‘Cyber Protection’ and ‘Computer Science and Innovative Engineering’ are attractive educational areas responsible for important aspects of modern technological development.
Students of courses in cybersecurity and computer science will have a unique opportunity to study such important areas as cyber defense, blockchain technologies, and artificial intelligence. In addition, they will be able to familiarize themselves with the processes of managing technological projects, thanks to special training modules.
According to Sergey Tokarev, the joint initiative of SET University and the UC Berkeley Fisher Center for Business Intelligence opens up new perspectives for students. New entrepreneurial programs, created in partnership with the University of California at Berkeley, will allow students to apply their knowledge and skills in creating innovative solutions.
Students enrolled in these unique programs face an interesting choice for their thesis: they can choose to build a university accelerator-backed start-up or develop a high-demand IT solution for a technology company. This hands-on experience allows them to apply their knowledge and skills in real projects, which contributes to their personal and professional growth.
Sergey Tokarev said that as part of its social program, the university has decided to allocate five scholarships for each of its study programs. The scholarship competition is open to representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard of Ukraine, including both active military personnel and those who are in the reserve or have already retired. Children of combatants, as well as Ukrainian women who seek to develop in the field of information technology, also have the right to participate in the competition. The internally displaced persons who temporarily left the occupied territories or war zones are not forgotten either. The selection of applications will be held until September 1, 2023.
Sergey Tokarev sponsors 5 places in the scholarship program for masters and MicroMasters. Tuition will be paid in full. He stressed that education is the key to a brighter future and a contribution to it is a contribution to the future of Ukraine.

SET Scholarship provides Ukrainians with an opportunity to get an IT education. Scholarships are funded by both individuals and companies. SET University plans to expand the scholarship support program to attract more citizens and organizations interested in this initiative.
SET University, together with the Center for Business Intelligence of the University of California, is also conducting free business intelligence training for Ukrainian women ‘Confident Leadership in the AI World.’ The event will be held offline in Kyiv from August 30.
Gauthier Vasseur, director and professor at the UC Berkeley Fisher Center for Business Intelligence, will lead the workshop. He is a recognized expert in applying data science and analytics to develop and execute successful business strategies.
Sergey Tokarev said that the training ‘Lead confidently in the world of AI’ is open to women citizens of Ukraine with IDP status, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard, as well as founders of economic or charitable projects.
Thus, participation in ’Lead with confidence in the world of AI’ will not only provide listeners with valuable knowledge and skills but also help them become part of a large and important project aimed at developing the Ukrainian educational sphere and creating an innovative and entrepreneurial environment for young talented people.
