Spotify Pie Chart

For lovers of music, the Spotify Pie Chart is something new in the market. We all know that Spotify is one of the most preferred places to listen to high-quality music. It is one of the most downloaded online music streaming applications. In addition to having a great library of music, the platform also has a large library of podcasts from various popular creators around the globe. Therefore, it is a multi-faceted platform.

However, the pie chart is an interesting aspect of the popular platform. To be more precise, it is a Genre chart, which gives an idea about your musical taste. This feature will let others know the types of music and content that you regularly listen to on Spotify. Therefore, it has some similarities with YouTube recap and Spotify’s annual “Wrapped” feature. Thus, if you wish to know more about this interesting feature on Spotify, then this article is the perfect stop for you.

About Spotify Pie Chart

This relatively new Spotify feature has been developed by Darren Huang. Huang is a student of the University of California, Los Angeles. To put in simple terms, this very feature provides an overview of the listeners’ musical taste in the form of a pie chart.

This feature processes your Spotify data, and your listening habits on the platform and then formulate a pie chart according to it. There are various colours on the chart symbolising the various genres. Apart from classifying the listening patterns into broad genres like rap, alternative rock, rock and so on, the chart also considers detailed information like album-rock, post-grunge, K-pop, indie rock, and others. Thus, every month you can create your own pie chart on Spotify.

Let me inform you that the pie chart is not an in-built feature of Spotify. Rather it is an external tool. There is an official website for it and you need to visit that website to avail of it. It works perfectly with both mobiles and computers. All you need to have is an active Spotify account.

Once you enter the website you will get an option reading “Bake Your Monthly Genre Pie.” Now you will have to enter your Spotify details and grant permission to the tool to access your data on Spotify. Once you click on the “Agree” option, the website will create your pie chart. In order to have a key to the colour schemes on the chart, follow this link.

Let me further inform you that this feature is exclusively for Spotify and for no other similar platform. However, there is always a possibility that similar tools will also be available in the new future for other applications or platforms like Spotify. But as of now, Spotify users are storming social media platforms with their own pie charts. Therefore, if you are a Spotify user, go and check out your own piechart for the month.
