YouTube Tips and Tricks

Okay, so, let’s assume that you are sharing an outstanding video to your friend or someone and want them to take a glance at only the valuable content of the video rather than watching the whole. But is that possible? Well, let’s get to know how to perform that trick!

You can see a “Share” button below every video you get to watch. When you click on it, you’ll find a pop-up box displaying the link of the video. Under the link, you will be able to see a small textbox with a timer set. Putting it simply, you can enter the “start at” time where you wish to start the video. Shortly you’ll notice the time gets added to the previous link.

For example – you’ll get to see a link like “?m=2t35s”. Once you copy the link and share it with others, they will start watching the video right from the timer you’ve set.

That was so simple.

Take a tip: when you press “J” while the video is playing, you can go 10 seconds back, and when you press “L” the video moves 10 seconds forward. That sounds amazing. Go check it out!

1. How to view the written transcripts for a video

YouTube has got a unique feature of automatically generating transcripts to its users, where 90% of them are unlikely to be unaware of it. These are nothing but written pieces of information readily available, making it handy to use. It’s useful when you require a precise cut out of the dialogues, especially when you need to write collateral.

Getting to know its procedure here

You will be able to see an option called “More” below the title of your video. Click on it and select the “Transcript” option from a variety of options listed to you. Once you choose, the written format directly appears in the description section below.

Suppose, if you don’t find the transcript option, that means that you are denied access to it. You should keep in mind that sometimes content creators don’t edit their transcripts and so it might not be an ideal one to use.

2. Working with SEO – Edit and upload transcripts

Search Engine Optimization is the critical element for your content to fetch a more significant number of outlooks. More the number of views, the higher the traffic. A great YouTube thumbnail plays an integral part in it as well. SEO will make your content appear on the top trending search lists among the rest of all.

So how to optimize your content?

You will be able to see an option “subtitles” just beneath the video. Click on it, and you’ll be prompted to set the language. In the next part, you’ll be given options to choose closed captions (CC) to your video. You can either upload a written word doc or type the transcript directly. Hiring a professional translator for your video can also help out.

Take a tip: Did you know that you can stifle a video in a second? Well, press “K” to pause or “M” to mute at any point (to be safe at play).

3. Create and share playlists

People usually prefer to be well organized and so your videos. How to generate a playlist?

Look for the icon “Video manager” on your page. Click on the playlist and hit on the “new playlist” visible on the top right corner. Give it a title, add videos and hurray, you’re all set to run your playlist.

Take a tip: The next time you watch a video on YouTube, try shrinking the footage like a floating box. All you have to do is clip down (picture box) the video that’s currently playing, the video minimizes itself to a small window, and in the meantime, you can manage your other works on the home screen.

4. Add a card to your video

There’s no entertainment without interaction. It gives an emotional connection between you and the person watching the video.

So, let’s take a glimpse on how to use the YouTube card feature.

Go to your channel and click on “Creator Studio,” where you’ll notice the “Video Manager” option to the left side of the page. Hop on to “cards” and claim for “Add card.”

Once you’re done, you’re free to place the card anywhere in the video.

Take a tip: If you have an idea to seek more attention from your ambiance, then the “dark mode interface” is one of the best options to choose from. You can change the settings of the app by just tapping the profile in the top right corner of the homepage.

Don’t forget to try this impressive feature out there and let us know your opinion.

5. The best part – Promotions

This is where your campaign starts. Let’s make it more clear for you to understand. The last 10-20 seconds is your precious time to promote your videos. Adding a continuation or suggesting a similar video, just like the previous one, can keep the user likely to be more engaged.

Conclusion

YouTube has been a boon to all of us in some way or the other. There are also ways to find the background audio in a video, which can be a boon to a few. So, the next time you go online, don’t forget to check on these tricks and hacks and have a better experience than before.
