We all tend to accumulate things that we don’t really need. It is time to declutter your bedroom and make the most of the space.
Why is Decluttering Important?
You probably spend a lot of time in your bedroom. At the very least, this is a place to unwind in the evening and the first room that you see when you wake up.
If you have a cluttered space, you may not feel as comfortable in your bedroom, even if you aren’t aware of it. Clutter can be stressful and having too many things around you can make it harder to keep your flat or house clean. When decluttering your bedroom, figure out which essential items you would like to keep. You may find that you don’t need a lot of things besides your bed, your wardrobe, a nightstand and maybe a few other items.
Ways to Declutter and Organise your Bedroom
1. Use trays, bowls and baskets
Who doesn’t love a pretty bowl or basket? Storing your items this way gives you an opportunity to play with different patterns and designs. It will also make it much more appealing to take out your earrings in the morning or find other items.
2. Make the most of the space
Fitted wardrobes really help to maximise your space by adapting to it. Wardrobes that fit seamlessly into your bedroom can create a whole new look that enhances your décor. Consider going for mirrored doors or simple white designs that blend in with the surrounding walls.
3. Organise your clothes
Your clothes are likely one of the things that take the most time to organise. Some people colour code clothes, others develop a completely different system. Wardrobes that are organised in a certain way may look very appealing in a magazine, but make sure the system is useful to you and works in your bedroom.
4. Get rid of things
When you are decluttering but can’t decide whether to get rid of something, you could keep the item in a box and store it away. If you still haven’t taken it out of the box and used it after 6 months, you may as well get rid of it.
5. Form new habits
A newly organised bedroom can make it a lot easier to keep it clean and free of clutter, but without forming new habits, it likely won’t last very long. Put away clothes that you have worn or that you decided not to wear immediately. Make tidying easy by decluttering but also make it a habit to keep things tidy.
The internet is your friend when it comes to finding many more bedroom storage ideas and decluttering can even be fun if you choose to make it enjoyable.
