Lockwood & Company Season 2: Will It Be Renewed? When Can We Expect It to Come Out?
Lockwood & Co. had not been officially renewed for a second season as of this writing. Usually, Netflix will wait a few weeks after a season has ended to decide whether or not to renew it, taking into account the show’s popularity, ratings, and overall budget. As such, a second season of the show’s production on the streaming service has not yet been confirmed.
That there is still a lot of source material to cover is a plus for the show. There are a total of five books in the series by Jonathan Stroud, but we’ve only seen the first two so yet. Thus, the story will need to develop more throughout the course of a second season.
Showrunner and director Joe Cornish has said of making a second season of Lockwood & Co., “You know, the books grow better and better, the world is explored in a very surprising and exciting way, there are some amazing set pieces and surprises and new roads to come.”
In his words, “we very much hope that people will watch and appreciate it and that we will be able to continue presenting the story that Jonathan Stroud has so masterfully written.” The show’s premiere date was set for January 27, 2023, and filming began in July 2021.
If things keep going as they have been, we can expect the second season premiere of the sitcom to occur somewhere in late 2024 or early 2025. We still have nearly two years to wait for the show’s comeback.
Lockwood & Co. Season 2: Expected Plot
If renewed for a second season, the show will pick up where the books leave off. When questioned about the possibility of a second season, Cornish said, “We’d continue with the books”. Some mysteries from the first season remain unanswered. But I’m sure it will be addressed in a later season.
The mysterious room that Lockwood had locked up in for all eight episodes will play a significant role in the tale as well. The door to the room was flung open toward the end of the season, but we won’t know what was inside until next year.
Lockwood & Co., Season 2: Cast
If there is a second season, fans hope to see their favourite characters back. In this production, Ruby Stokes is Lucy Carlyle, Cameron Chapman is Anthony Lockwood, Ali Hadji-Heshmati is George Karim, and Ivanno Jeremiah is Inspector Barnes.
The character that Morven Christie plays In addition to Jemma Moore as Penelope Fittes, Annabel Ward is portrayed by Rhianna Dorris, Kat Godwin by Rhianna Dorris, Paddy Holland as Bobby Vernon, Rico Vina as Ned Shaw, and Jack Bandeira as Quill Kipps.
