Morant went live on Instagram following his team’s loss to the Denver Nuggets. And he appeared as partying at a strip club. During the video, he briefly flashed a gun at the camera at the start of the live video.

In the wake of his controversies, the Grizzlies have taken action against a 23-year-old player. They have announced that he would not be playing for the team for the next two games at least. Nor have any of Morant’s reps commented on the matter.

The NBA is investigating after Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant appeared to show off a gun during a social media video. That stream was early Saturday morning.
In the hours after the Grizzlies lost at the Denver Nuggets on Friday, the 23-year-old went live on Instagram. During the video stream, people clipped it and shared it on other social media platforms. Morant sings along to a rap song, dances with a friend and briefly appears to hold up a gun to the camera.
“We are aware of a social media post involving Ja Morant and are investigating,” an NBA spokesman said Saturday.
The Grizzlies announced Saturday afternoon that Morant “will be away from the team for at least the next two games.” The Grizzlies visit the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday and the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. A home matchup with the Golden State Warriors follows Thursday.

Morant could face a fine or a suspension from the league for the video. It came on social media just days after The Washington Post reported on a pair of Memphis police. It reports linking him to allegations of assault and threatening behaviour. The Grizzlies and Morant’s agent, Jim Tanner, did not immediately respond to a request for comment Saturday.

In the video, we can see the player briefly bringing the gun to his face before pulling it away. However, it is not known if the weapon was real or fake. The incident has caught the attention of the NBA, and spokesman Mike Bass had to release a statement. He said, “We are aware of a social media post involving Ja Morant and are investigating.”
The Grizzlies have also taken action against the 23-year-old player in the wake of his controversies. He has announced that he would not be playing the fourth team in the next two games at least. Meanwhile, neither Morant nor his reps have commented on the matter.
