Do you like pork chops? Do you want to know how we make them around here? Well, let me tell you. What do I need to make pork chops at home?
To make great tasting and juicy pork chops, all you need is a frying pan or griddle. The trick for getting the best quality meat is to use bone-in chops (or bone-in rib rack) that are at least 1 inch thick. The bone gives added flavor and natural moisture. You will also need some Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, but don’t overdo it. Over-seasoning will dry out the meat.
There’s nothing better than a griddle pan for pork chops.
What do I need to start?
Seasoned chops are ready in less than 10 minutes on the stovetop!
The secret is to cook the chops in one layer, not crowded together. This way they won’t steam each other and you can get a nice sear on both sides. For this reason, you may want to cook the chops two at a time or even stagger the cooking process by doing half of them now and then finishing off the rest later right before serving.
How do you cook pork chops?
Let the chops rest after cooking. That’s it! I prefer to put my meat on a plate with a paper towel on top and let it rest while I get all the stuff ready. But whatever works for you is fine, just don’t overcook them!
I save all leftovers in a glass container with a lid and keep them in the fridge for up to 3 days. If they last that long 🙂 It’s good cold or hot: we like it with pasta, eggs, beans, stir-fry… Sooo many possibilities.
Here’s a printable version of the recipe. Enjoy!
