The Batman 2 is still a few years away. So, there are a lot of different directions that the sequel could go in. However, it is getting more hopeful development for Batman after the first film. Some believe that Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight will become increasingly recognizable in the second film. There’s one element of this, however, that might not work as well as some think.
How Will The Batman – Part 2 Continue Villains’ Stories?
In The Batman 2, the Penguin and the Riddler will come back for certainly an exciting prospect. Especially since both of them were left alive and well(ish) at the end of the original movie.
Colin Farrell’s Oswald Cobblepot watched Gotham flood as a free man. The Riddler is currently working with Arkham Asylum, with his cellmate being none other than Barry Keoghan’s Joker.
In October 2022, Paul Dano noted that he would “probably be there” if anyone asked him to reprise his role in the sequel. This should make for some exciting prospects for his character as Edward Nashton seeks revenge on Bruce Wayne.
Farrell is also already busy working on his own HBO Max show, The Penguin. That will reveal more of his rise to power before he moves into his return to glory for the next Batman solo movie.
Now, the big question that remains is how big both of their roles will be in Matt Reeves’ highly-anticipated sequel. Especially with Gotham now in complete chaos thanks to the flood that has the city underwater.
And with almost a dozen potential new villains that could take the spotlight against the Caped Crusader. Robert Pattinson’s hero appears to be in for a hell of a ride once more.
The Batman – Part 2 will begin production in November ahead of its October 5, 2025 release date.
Is Barry Keoghan’s Joker Confirmed For Robert Pattinson’s The Batman 2?
Batman’s epic saga is unworthy of going down in history as a remarkable Dark Knight adaptation. Packed to the brim with villains, plotlines, tyranny, and despair. Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader was as full of potential as a newcomer bird on the edge of a cliff – it was either soaring or falling. But the creativity of Matt Reeves shined bright when he tied every aspect of the film together beautifully, and the narrative, instead of coming off as overwhelming, blended in the plot elements in a perfect balance.
The Batman 2 Has The Toughest Path To Getting Better Reviews
The Batman 2 will have the toughest time getting better reviews than its ancestor. Matt Reeves’ The Batman received very positive reviews as it eventually settled with an 85 per cent critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. This is the highest mark for the first Batman movie in a franchise, barely edging out Batman Begins.
As a result, The Batman 2’s reviews will have to be even more positive to beat the 2022 DC movie. Superhero movie fatigue, a new DC Universe slate, and an increasing amount of movie critics could all make it tougher for The Batman – Part II to keep the better review trend alive.
