The best advice you’ll get for living a happy life is to go out in nature as often as possible. Your entire body and soul will be thrilled by the great outdoors. Reconnecting with nature is essential for all human beings, so going hiking, camping, fishing, biking, or something else is the best thing you can do for yourself during the weekend. Many will not spend one weekend throughout the entire year in nature. They got used to living in the city, and going out of it feels unusual to them. Going outside at least twice per month is recommended, so it’s time to up the action if you’re not doing this.

It doesn’t matter what you’ll do. There are many activities for you to choose from, and all you have to do is pick the one that will feel your interests perfectly. Once you do it, you need to prepare yourself, get the right items, and have the most fun.

In this article, we’re sharing a couple of tips to help you enjoy nature and the great outdoors. We will explain what is a must when you’re going out and what you need to mind before taking off. Read on and see what these things are.

You can’t carry the espresso machine with you when you’re going into the wilderness. It would be nice to enjoy the mountain view while sipping the finest espresso that only you know how to prepare, but it’s impossible to walk through the forests or mountains carrying all kinds of stuff.

Carry only the essentials. That means to pack a backpack with extra clothes, a first aid kit, enough water, a knife, matches, a flashlight, and some food. Leave everything extra at home or in your car. Extras will only slow you down, make you exhausted faster, and you’ll struggle to catch your breath. You simply won’t enjoy time spent in nature.

Inspect the sporting equipment if you love sports

Many people will go into nature to ride their bikes, hike, or fish. If you love sports, you’ll need some specialized equipment. Your bike needs to be flawless and ready before taking off from home. You can’t fix it on the road, so go to the store and have it checked.

Hiking means special shoes, extra clothes to change after you get sweaty, and a smartwatch, so buy these things a few days before going hiking. Fishing means you need an entire set of fishing equipment. If you’re prepared before going, you’ll enjoy your sporting activity.

Always carry and drink a lot of water

When you’re in nature, you’re constantly physically active. That means your body wastes an excessive amount of water stored inside, and you need to constantly replace it by drinking more water. If you don’t do this, you’ll simply dehydrate, which leads to more complex issues.

Always carry more water with you and have a plan on how to find more if you drink the entire amount you had planned. Check if there are natural sources of freshwater. Is there a selling point where you can get more? Always explore other options but never end up without it.

Don’t forget the sunglasses and the sunscreen if it’s the summer

During the summer, you must stay protected from the sun if you’re going. The ultraviolet light coming from the sun hurts your skin and eyes, so you need to be prepared for this challenge. The good thing is that the right sunglasses and a powerful sunscreen will do the job.

Make sure you get polaroid glasses that will reflect most of the sun’s rays and apply sunscreen to all the parts the sun will get to them. That means your feet, arms, face, and everything else where the skin is visible. You should wear a hat too, but that’s optional since the hair will do most of the blocking.

Finally, let go of everything and just enjoy nature. The birds chirping, the sounds of the tree leaves trembling under the light wind, a nearby crick making those peaceful sounds of water going through the canal, all these things will make you feel wonderful.

Don’t stay at one place, but go along the way, explore, and find new things. We’re constantly locked inside a city pattern, and we need something to break out of our mental jail. Don’t be afraid to feel the spirit of adventure. Take some risks and have some fun, but don’t forget to be careful while doing it. There are no 911 ambulance calls in the wilderness.
