The Story Of The Founder Of 'Love & Cheesecake' Bakery

Nothing is impossible in this world if you are willing to achieve something in your life. This is correctly proven by the founder of ‘Love & Cheesecake bakery, Ruchyeta Bhatia who started this bakery in 2012 from a small 300 sq. feet kitchen in Bandra. Now, it has grown into a chain of premium cafes and full- service restaurants. The founder of this venture, Ruchyeta Bhatia, now manages 8 outlets of Love & Cheesecake in Mumbai intending to include 8 more this year.

Let’s know something about her background

The premium bakery has been started by Ruchyeta Bhatia who is an Economics graduate from Mumbai’s Jai Hind College. She has seen a dream of starting something of her own and she always desired to dive into the food industry.

She started her business at the age of 22

She also worked at an international market research firm where her job was to analyze survey results. She was not that much interested in doing her corporate work and she took leave within five months to start working towards her dream. She started at the age of 22 with no previous experience.

She learned a lot during her internship

To make her dream venture a reality, she also decides to go through a course at the Culinary Institute of America to sharpen her skills. But before she could join them, she has to invest six months in a culinary kitchen.

During her internship at Mumbai’s Marriott Hotels, she has learned about the different shades of desserts and realized that Western desserts are a tough category. She explained that even small alterations in temperature could completely vary the taste. This was undoubtedly a challenge from a business prospect, but it only helped to arouse the entrepreneur within her.

Finally, she came out with finding ‘Love& Cheesecake

During her internship, she has got the idea to start her business. Not only this, but she has also been introduced to a brilliant pastry chef and now her co-founder, Amit Sharma. He has a good experience of working with Taj and Marriott. They both have worked hard to build this venture.

They have saved a lot to start their business. They took a small place at the back of a building where a few people would just come by sometime and try some of their stuff. Things however changed when they got featured in some local blogs.

And then they got a huge success

Soon, they started receiving huge footfall and which led to the success of their venture. This way, they have also managed to expand its chain into multiple cafes and restaurants. The journey was extremely challenging for her when she was expecting and side by side she was managing her business also. But she has succeeded in what she has wanted which led to the emergence of such a premium brand that has more than 250 workers as of now.

White eggs come from hens with white feathers and ear lobes and brown eggs come from hens with red feathers and ear lobes. The shells of both the eggs have the same thickness. If you have ever noticed that an eggshell seems tougher, it’s because of the age of the chicken and not the colour of the egg. Younger chicken tends to lay eggs with harder shells while older chicken lays eggs with thinner shells.

You might have this question in your mind when you are about to purchase an egg may be white or brown. Well, it depends on the hen’s diet. Eggs from hens fed vegetarian diets had more vitamins and omega-3s than eggs from hens eating conventional diets. There is no significant difference in nutritional value between brown and white eggs. But in general, brown eggs may have slightly more omega-3s than white eggs.

Good news for all the coffee lovers out there. Hold on and listen. There are numerous myths relating to drinking coffee like drinking too much coffee makes you insomniac or you get addicted to it. But there’s good news and that is drinking coffee is good for your health irrespective of the quantity. No, no, I am not telling this. Here, I have proof. This is proved by a scientific study.

As per the study conducted long back ago, people who drink coffee irrespective of the quantity consumed are likely to live a healthy, long life. It doesn’t matter what kind of coffee do you drink or how many cups of coffee you take in a day, you would likely lead a healthy and long life.

Which study proves this?

The study has been proved by the Journal of the American Association’s Jama Internal Medicine. As per their study, regardless of the amount of coffee or the kind of coffee you drink, coffee drinkers are less likely to die over 10 years than non-coffee drinkers.

Another study also proved this…

Another research finding by the National Cancer Institute’s team research lead Erikka Lotfield revealed that people who drank more than eight cups in a day were less likely to die on an average as compared to non-coffee drinkers.

You will be shocked to know that a follow up 10 years into the study showed that out of the 14,000 people who died were non-coffee drinkers.

Here are some other things that were revealed

Drink coffee to live longer

  • Participants who drank four or more cups of coffee per day compared to people who drank less coffee and with non-drinkers were more, likely to drink instant coffee and they used to smoke very frequently.
  • Participants who drank one to three cups per day were found to be older with a university degree and also likely to report ‘excellent’ health.
  • Coffee also helps in reducing the inflammation levels in your body. It also helps your liver to function properly.
  • Coffee can also help you to protect against diabetes, colon and liver cancer.

Well, the results do not confirm that drinking too much coffee prevents people from dying, but having it at least reassure people who can’t live without sipping their daily cup of coffee.

“I think for some people, it’s going to put their minds at ease. It’s premature that people start consuming coffee to improve health outcomes,” stated Lichtenstein. She also said it could be that people who drink coffee aren’t drinking other beverages with a lot of calories like apple juice.

The important point to note here is having a large amount of caffeine can prove lethal for your health (around 25 cups, according to FDA). So, try to drink accordingly so that it doesn’t harm your health.
